Team Mascot - Wheeling Nailers (Wheeling, WV)

Spike the Mascot must be a passionate and enthusiastic hockey fan who acts as an ambassador for the Nailers both at home games and around the community. Spike must have high availability to work Nailers home games and be able to work scheduled promotions, appearances, and community events throughout the year. At Nailers home games Spike is responsible for greeting fans, performing cheers, assisting with on-ice and in-stand promotions and, most importantly, ensuring our fans have an outstanding Nailers experience. Commitment to the team extends from October through the following August.

Requirements

· Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of final auditions.
· Must be a high school graduate or have a G.E.D.
· Must have a part-time or full-time job or be a college student
· Must be able to ice skate

Events

· Mascot will be at every home game
· Mascot will need to attend and participate in school visits and other community events

2017-18 Season - In Arena Host - Wheeling Nailers (Wheeling, WV)

JOB SUMMARY:
To communicate promotional messages and/or content in a fun, creative and innovative way that enhances the fan, sponsor, and team experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Enjoys and demonstrates a passion for being a part of the Nailers organization and for the sport of hockey
• Competent knowledge of hockey and the Nailers organization 
• Able to commit to all required Nailers regular season home games and maintain a flexible schedule throughout the season
• Possesses a great voice that commands attention and delivers assigned messages with impact
• Brings on-going creativity to the role by constantly searching for ways to reinvent themselves while staying within the framework of their character
• Possesses the intelligence necessary to comprehend scripts and adapt quickly to changes
• Possesses a personality that engages and promotes interaction with fans 
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Game Operations Manager

REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Previous experience as a host or emcee in various capacities a plus
• Comfortable in front of large crowds
• Strong time management and communication skills
• Must be able to take direction along with constructive criticism from supervisors
• Competent knowledge of hockey and the Nailers organization

The Worcester Railers HC of the ECHL are seeking a part-time as needed enthusiastic, outgoing mascot performer to provide high-energy fun and entertainment as the team’s mascot, TRAX. Candidates must possess the following attributes:

  • Have costume performance experience

  • Be available and willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

  • Be athletic and physically fit

  • Must be able to work in a costume

  • Must be able to communicate nonverbally and create spontaneous crowd interaction

  • Must have a great sense of humor and enjoy interacting with others

  • Ability to Ice Skate is not a must but highly sought

Mascot duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform as TRAX at Railers HC home games and community events

  • Entertain fans at games, team events, and community appearances

  • Take on other duties associated with TRAX as the team may reasonably request

The Worcester Railers HC of the ECHL are seeking an enthusiastic, outgoing mascot performer to provide high-energy fun and entertainment as the team’s mascot, TRAX, during all 36 regular season home games as well as any additional post season playoff games. Candidates must possess the following attributes:

  • Have a minimum of one year experience as a mascot

  • Be committed to work all 36 home games

  • Be available and willing to work evenings and weekends

  • Be athletic and physically fit

  • Must have experienced ice skating skills

  • Must be able to work in a costume

  • Must be able to communicate nonverbally and create spontaneous crowd interaction

  • Must have a great sense of humor and enjoy interacting with others

Mascot duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform as TRAX at all 36 Railers HC home games

  • Entertain fans during games with constant interaction

  • Attend all internal meetings as required

  • Take on other duties associated with TRAX as the team may reasonably request
