Marketing Community Engagement Associate - Alaska Aces (Anchorage, AK)

As Community Engagement Account Associate, you will be tasked to invigorate and embed the branding of the Alaska Aces to a multitude of community partners at a local and state level in addition to corporate entities year-round.  Your primary responsibilities will be to bridge community partners to assets of the Alaska Aces such as and not limited to, the team and players, mascots, fan-engagement, corporate group events, non-profit organizations and fundraising, school activities and corporate sponsors.

Reports to: Vice President, Sales & Marketing.  You will work closely with ticketing director and the promotions director.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

¨      Coordinate, plan and execute general marketing and fundraising campaigns and initiatives targeting young fans and families while creating engagement opportunities for these demographics.

¨      Engage and manage relationships with local non-profit organizations such as school PTA’s, youth sports and faith/church group organizations in coordinating fundraising events.  You will also develop and assist with fundraising kits to distribute to groups and organizations.

¨      Develop and work closely with schools within the school district and other charter/private schools for educational initiatives, choir appearances to sing the National Anthem at Alaska Aces games and player class-room appearances.

¨      Collaborate with potential or current Corporate Sponsors in executing and enriching partner activation with unique marketing initiatives on weekend games.

¨      Provide excellent customer service to all existing and potential clientele and organizations

¨      Proactively engage with local companies in marketing and selling group outings and maintain relationship with those clients; establish a team leader within the organization and foster a continuous relationship with the organization.

¨      Network within the community in hosting or appearing with players and mascots at private events in coordination with group sales.

¨      Knowledge of social media and digital platforms.

¨      Professionally represent the organization at business and community functions

¨      Must attend all HOME games to plan and execute all related promotions in addition to ancillary events such as penalty box visits, group photos, choir singers and other related fan experiences.

Fan Development Coordinator - Greenville Swamp Rabbits (Greenville, SC)

Overview: The Fan Development Coordinator position is responsible for developing, implementing and facilitating grassroots programming related to the organization’s commitment to community involvement while educating the public on the sport of hockey. 

Responsibilities:

·Craft a strategic Fan Development plan aimed at enhancing brand awareness and strengthening fan affinity with a particular focus on development and expansion of the team’s relationship with the Greater Greenville Hockey Association and activation programs aimed at educating and familiarizing the general public about the sport of hockey.

·Responsible for executing the Fan Development strategy and managing all activation programs. 

·Responsible for managing the day to day Fan Development budget.

·Work closely with Corporate Sales staff in developing sponsorship programs for inclusion in corporate sales proposals.  

·Represent the organization within the community at civic, community and charitable events while generating awareness about the team’s community and grassroots efforts.

·Manage and continue to develop the Swamp Rabbits Kids Club and any other sponsored fan club fulfillment

·Manage the creative process for development of necessary materials associated with Fan Development programs. 

·Directly work with the hockey operations personnel on appearances and/or events for the players.

·Develop and maintain strong relationships with various youth sports leagues. 

·Work directly with Entertainment & Promotions Coordinator to hire, train and manage the teams’ mascot.  Ensure the team’s mascot is readily available at events and/or appearances. 

·Responsible for the upkeep of the mascot suit with regard to cleanliness, appearance and uniformity of team brand and look.

Marketing: Game Operations/Presentation
Entertainment & Promotions Coordinator - Greenville Swamp Rabbits (Greenville, SC)

Overview: The Entertainment & Promotions Coordinator position is responsible for executing the Swamp Rabbits game presentation and playing an active role in building an unforgettable fan experience. The candidate will contribute to the development and management of all Swamp Rabbits games and events with the goal of creating a unique, entertaining and fan-friendly experience.  This is a seasonal position that will start in August and run through our season including playoffs with the potential of becoming full time.  

Responsibilities:

Serve as the director of Swamp Rabbits game presentation. In coordination with CMO, define annual strategy of live entertainment direction, creative management of interactive elements and fan experience. 

·Responsible for implementation and execution of all game day operations and activities including game contests, temporary sign installation and removal, concourse activities and pre-game ceremonies. 

·Work in conjunction with our Corporate Partnership, Ticket Sales & Service, Hockey Operations, Marketing and Community Relations to ensure all contractual elements are fulfilled.

·Creates daily game presentation scripting including all video board displays, public address announcements, etc

·Manage and serve professionally as a liaison for the Swamp Rabbits externally and interdepartmentally with Hockey Operations, Ticket Sales & Service, Community Relations, Corporate Partnerships and Marketing.

·Responsible for the scheduling and scripting of all player head shots and promotional videos. 

·Responsible for the execution of all hockey game events including stoppage in play promotions, intermission contests, pre-game ceremonies, etc. 

·Interview, hire and supervise game day employees including promo team, public address announcer, music coordinator, in-arena host, chuck a puck personnel and related game night positions. 

·Prepares game projection summary for Team staff prior to each game or series of games.

·Prepares documents for Arena operations personnel outlining Team game needs one week prior to each game. 

·Oversees the production of game day video board content. 

·Responsible for production of any video board content which requires in game production (i.e. contest winners, attendance, etc.).

·Serves as liaison between Team and Arena operations staff.  

·Manages inventory and functionality of radio communication devices. 

·Develop and maintain vendor relationships.

Community Relations Manager - South Carolina Stingrays (Charleston, SC)

Summary:
The primary role of the Community Relations Manager is to support and facilitate the community outreach and education programs of the hockey club as well as the execution of philanthropic initiatives of the team’s charitable foundation. Must be willing and able to generate revenue through the sale of ticket packages.

Responsibilities include:
• Manage monthly charitable donations to assist fundraising efforts of qualified non-profit organizations
• Coordination, execution of all educational programs 
• Assist with planning and execution of all charitable and community events, including procurement and organization of auction items for foundation fundraisers 
• Maintain master appearance spreadsheet to fulfill, track all requests for team personnel
• Manage internal and external ticket donation programs
• Assist with management and promotion of team’s appearances by scheduling speakers, soliciting appearances, managing database, and post-event follow-up 
• Coordinate attendance by team personnel at all community events
• Schedule and manage mascot appearances, player appearances in the community
• Generate revenue through sales of Group, Season, and Flex tickets. Other duties include fundraisers, birthday packs, and organizing Pink in the Rink and Kids Club. 

Game Responsibilities include:
• Schedule and manage Hat Trick for Reading program, Kid’s Club and Birthday parties with Cool Ray
• Facilitate all touch points of game-night experience for the kids and fans

Education and/or Experience: 
• Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, marketing or related field 
• Experience in professional sports or related non-profit industry a plus
• Knowledge in Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word, Mail Merge, Excel, Power Point, Photo Shop 
• Experience with basic web site management, html and graphic design a plus
• Strong organizational and time management skills 
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills 
• Ability to work unsupervised and to function both independently and as a team member
• Game nights required, along with non-traditional hours (including special events, nights, weekends)

Director of Community Relations - Wichita Thunder (Wichita, KS)

The Wichita Thunder is seeking an energetic, professional, and self-motivated person who has a passion for sports and community involvement.  The Thunder play at the $220M state of the art facility INTRUST Bank Arena – the nicest facility in the ECHL.


This position will oversee all activities of Community Relations, including several charitable foundations. The manager will also be responsible for managing all player and mascot appearances.


Summary of Essential Job Functions:

·         Oversee the planning and execution for all community relations events and ensure that events receive media coverage

·         Foster relationships with current charitable partners and generate new partners

·         Uphold both the organization's and the department's mission and core values in all programs

·         Spearhead fundraising opportunities with 501(c)3 organizations

·         Ensure all charitable donation requests are fulfilled in a timely, professional manner

·         Ensure accurate, current player and mascot appearance database is maintained through the year

·         Create and manage cultural outreach and public service programs

·         Liaise with coworkers to create a season long calendar of events and activations

Desired Qualifications:

·         1-2 years of community relations experience

·         Bachelor’s Degree required; major in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, or other related degree

·         Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills

·         Ability to work flexible hours (including nights and weekends)

·         Expertise in using social media platforms professional, including, but not limited to Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and LinkedIn

·         Ability to work independently and meet deadlines, as well as being a team player in a collaborative team environment

·         Understanding local community and market
