Director of Group Sales - Bakersfield Condors (Bakersfield, CA)

PERIODS: Immediate availability

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Primary group sales person for the franchise.
  • Supervise the scheduling, marketing, and selling of group and community nights, and suites
  • Responsible for the development, lead generation, data mining efforts, accounting, solicitation and service of all group ticket accounts.
  • Responsible for the group sales budget.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must demonstrate a high degree of time management and organizational skills.
  • Must have a keen sense for group sales prospecting and new business development.
  • Proven ability to sell group tickets.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel and experience with contact management software.
  • Must be a self-starter and team player.
  • Must be willing to work long hours year round and lead by example.

COMPENSATION: Base plus commission and bonus package based on personal and organizational goals.

  • The Condors play in the beautiful state-of-the-art Rabobank Arena, with a capacity of approximately 8,500, 27 luxury suites and center-hung video scoreboard.
  • The organization has earned numerous awards and honors for community involvement, marketing, sales and game presentation; including the ECHL Team Award for Excellence.
  • Average attendance is among the league leaders at approximately 5,000 fans per game.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Sales of season tickets, mini-plans, suites, and group tickets.

OBJECTIVE:
The Evansville IceMen seek a self-starter who will be responsible for generating revenue through outbound sales campaigns that focus on the sale of full, partial, mini-game ticket plans and group sales to businesses and individual customers.

The Account Executive will be responsible to:

•Generate new business through outbound sales calls, outside appointments, and building tours
•Prospect and research new business opportunities through cold calling, referrals, and networking events
•Cultivate new business and service existing clients and prospects
•Maintain a detailed customer database of all clients and prospects
•Set up face-to-face appointments with key decision makers of community and corporate groups
•Staff Evansville IceMen ticket sales tables for games and events plus outside functions including luncheons, business shows, conventions, festivals, etc.
•Meet and exceed weekly and monthly sales and productivity goals
•Work all home games to support ticket sales initiatives
•Perform all other duties as assigned by Manager of Ticket Sales and Services

The ideal candidate will have:

•A Bachelor’s degree
•Previous internship or work experience within the sports ticket sales industry
•A passion for sales and creativity
•A strong work ethic and the desire to build a career in professional sports
•Ability to set goals and achieve objectives in a timely and efficient manner
•The ability to speak publicly on behalf of the Evansville IceMen
•Exceptional written and oral communication skills
•Strong multi-tasking and customer service skills and attention to detail
•The ability to work flexible hours including, but not limited to evenings, weekends and holidays

Account Executive - Ticket Sales - Utah Grizzlies (Salt Lake City, Ut)

 Description
As an Account Executive for the Grizzlies, you will begin building your sports resume through your performance developing relationships throughout Salt Lake that produce new ticket sales opportunities. A successful executive will use cold calls, face-to-face meetings and email marketing as methods for building lasting relationships with local businesses and individuals. As a member of our sales team, a high level of performance will enable you the opportunity to take on additional roles in both sales and management as your skills and resume to continually develop. The ability to work as a part of team is a must!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Generate business revenue using all sales methods, including cold calls, face to face appointments, prospecting and networking
• Make cold calls from provided lists to area companies to build new relationships
• Use a full catalog of inventory items (Group Seats, Full & Mini Packages, Food & Beverage Options, Suites, Meetings Space, etc) to customize a comprehensive hospitality package that fits your client's every need
• Aggressively prospect and research new sales leads
• Conduct face to face sales presentations with prospects and potential customers
• Meet or exceed weekly and monthly sales goals in the areas of season, group and partial-plan ticket packages
• Record all activity and sales pipeline details in CRM system
• Provide superior customer service to clients - existing ticket holders, prospects, and single game customers
• Sell other special projects when necessary
• Be present at all home games to service your customers, establish new relationships and help manage the game day duties
• Attend team and community events for the purpose of making new connections and maximizing sales opportunities
• Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Sales Manager

IDEAL CANDIDATE:
• Aggressive, competitive and committed to the sports industry
• Highly motivated with a desire to be successful
• Strong communication and computer skills
• Detail-oriented and organized; ability to handle several projects at once
• Prior telemarketing and/or sales experience is preferred but not essential
• Any experience working for a team, athletic department or event is beneficial
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
